This is a good standard weapon choice, simply because it's versatile. It's primary fire is a single laser bolt, and its secondary is a barrage of laser blasts.

E-11 Blaster Rifle: This bad boy is exactly what the stormtroopers tote around.

Beyond these two, however, there is a whole world of extra weaponry. The standard weapons you will always begin every mission with are the lightsaber and handheld blaster.
